Bible verse of the day · Wednesday, November 4, 2026
Cast your burden on the LORD and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.Psalms 55:22
The psalm is raw about someone who walked with him to God’s house and then turned on him, with words smooth as butter and a heart at war. In the middle of that comes this line, and the promise is that God holds up the person, not that the weight vanishes.
Read it in context.
Psalms 55
20He raises his hands against his friends. He has violated his covenant. 21His mouth was smooth as butter, but his heart was war. His words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords. 22Cast your burden on the LORD and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. 23But you, God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction. Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days, but I will trust in you.
In other Bibles.
Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.
